Machine Gun (CD)
"A machine gun is just a symbol of automated american death, something people are into no matter which side of the trigger they're on. (...) As Malcolm X said, "the price of freedom is death". For everybody else, let's just party on some meth and crack and watch movies of people killing each other with machine guns." - Dave Unger, Brooklyn, NY
A journey into a landscape of hallucinating and highway-driven rock, "Machine Gun" takes a cinematic approach to sound. U.S.S.'s sonic constructions feature the manipulation and re-edits of recordings sourced from sessions separated by time and place (from Brooklyn to Paris, from Brussels to Porto), which are then recombined into oppressive rock songs with heavy drums, gritty bass and a psychedelic thrust to play together on musical/sound narratives for the mind.
On this second album, U.S.S. features players from an array of musical backgrounds with members of The Stooges (US), Sonic Suicide Squad (US), Barbez (Tzadik/Important Rec/NYC), Ovo (Load/Italy), Fujako (Wordsound), Soopa (Portugal), Radon (US), Sikhara(US), Hop Frog (URCK/LA), and Love 666 (NYC).
