HHY & The Macumbas

HHY Scumclash, the psychedelic-dub alter ego of Soopa's Jonathan Saldanha, appeared at Casa da Música's Loja Optimus Venue with a set made up of new arrangements (for trio) of some of his tracks. His usual beats, sub-bass rumbles and sonar-echo-delays were boosted by the addition of João Filipe (of F.R.I.C.S., Sektor 304 and many other bands) on trash percussion and Álvaro Almeida (of F.R.I.C.S.) on trumpet and latin percussion, giving birth to HHY & The Macumbas, Soopa's new space-zombie-latin ensemble, somewhere between the Caribbean and Alpha Centauri.
