Faca Monstro Bass Ritual feat. Frog Pocket (Planet Mu Records)

Faca Monstro, the collective of producers whose beats, breaks and bass rituals have wrecked dancefloors all over Porto for the last few months, returned to Maus Hábitos for another party, this time with a special guest: Frog Pocket, whose fusions of breakbeats and traditional Scottish song are released on Mike Paradina's prestigious label, Planet Mu.

The evening began with Último's glitch-infested beats, flying the flag for Faca Monstro. Up next was Frog Pocket, who presented the audience with an alien set of soaring violin figures, delay and distortion, breaks and some knee-on-the-effects-pedals acrobatics that dazzled the audience.

And yes, he does carry a frog in his pocket!
