HHY & The Macumbas

The Macumbas are a cast of musicians assembled by Jonathan Saldanha (HHY) to perform his space-age voodoo compositions. The band's aesthetic combines the fever of Haitian cerimonial percussion, heavy bass lines, massed layers of trumpet and the panic attack echo effects of the most psychotic strains of dub, in an evocation of a paranormal reality rendered audible by The Macumbas' hallucinatory sonic assault.

Onstage,  the band dress in matching outfits, fully realising HHY's vision of a hotel band from Limbo, Purgatory or another part of the Netherworld.
